This section has information on troubleshooting your problems. Typically, your problems will be solved quickly if you follow the following algorithm:

  1. Search Research Computing pages, wiki (on-campus or via VPN), mail archives, and/or the internet for the problem. Most problems are recurring and the solutions are readily available.
  2. If the problem is a compilation error, segmentation fault, or similar problem related to execution of programs, read the compiling programs page for help on compiling and debugging.
  3. See the Frequently Asked Questions and their solutions.
  4. If nothing else helps, post your problem with complete details and how to reproduce it (if possible) on the HPC mailing list.
  5. If you are unable to use the HPC mailing list also, then use the LTS-wide online help system at under the "High Performance Computing" section.
